We will be participating in All Out Adventures’ Virtual Challenge in September!  For our Team Daniel challenge, Daniel and his Dad will be taking a bike ride in Northampton this Sunday, September 20. Daniel and Steve are able to bike together and attempt this challenge because of a special tandem recumbent trike provided by All Out Adventures.  

We are dedicating our ride to Angie & Dan Boyle, two beautiful souls who lost their lives in May 2020 within days of each other.  Angie was a brain injury survivor, and Daniel was her devoted husband.  Angie was a huge fan of AOA, and described All Out Adventures as "life-saving" in the aftermath of her brain injury.  We were privileged to know Angie & Dan through our brain injury support group, and to have introduced them to this wonderful nonprofit.

This "virtual challenge" takes the place of the Kayak-a-thon this year, which is All Out Adventures’ most significant annual fundraiser. You can learn more about the organization at: https://alloutadventures.org/

Typically each year, All Out Adventures holds the Kayak-a-thon, a signature fundraising event that raised close to $50,000 in support of free or low cost outdoor recreation programs for people with disabilities, seniors, and veterans in 2019.  Though the COVID-19 pandemic means we can't gather in person to paddle down the Connecticut River this year, we will be together in spirit and community in the AOA Virtual Challenge.  Every participant will name a challenge meaningful to them, and we will work together to fundraise and to build awareness and support for adaptive recreation programs.
