Dear Friends and Family,

All Out Adventures is a nonprofit in Northampton, MA whose mission is to provide outdoor recreation opportunities to seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities and loved ones. It's amazing!!! They run programs year-round, including cycling, snowshoeing, hiking, SUP, and kayaking with staff and gear to support the various needs of the participants.

As my physical abilities change with MS I'm finding that the right gear and people support make all the difference in allowing me to continue to access activities and the wilderness I love so much. An ingenious off-road wheelchair with someone helping to push, a cooler next to the already-set-up-kayak allowing ease of entry and exit, a tandem recumbent trike already on the bike path-- this gear and this level of support from people are transformative simply by allowing me and so many others to continue to do what we love despite physical difficulties and disabilities.

I've been so lucky to participate in the programs since we moved here last year and, with your help, I'd like to give back a tiny bit by participating as I'm able in their annual kayak-a-thon. The photo above is of Fumio, Kaz, and me on a nearby lake during one of their summer kayak programs. It was invigorating and joyful to be on the water! And I learned that the three-hour kayak-a-thon will be beyond what I can do. So instead of paddling, we'll be joining them as volunteers on land to support the kayakers.

Would you consider donating to my fundraising efforts to support All Out Adventures? They're amazing people- thoughtful, kind, respectful, supportive, enthusiastic- creating ordinary yet extraordinary moments for people who wouldn't otherwise be able to experience them.

The Kayak-a-thon is a fully inclusive, community-building event that will raise funds and awareness for free or low-cost inclusive outdoor recreation programs.  Each year, All Out Adventures runs approximately 180 outdoor recreation programs for seniors, veterans, and people who have disabilities and their loved ones.  Our 100-person flotilla will kayak down the Connecticut River from Sunderland, MA to Hatfield, MA to Northampton, MA.  Learn more here:  https://alloutadventures.org/kayak-a-thon/

This year's $50,000 goal will support our current slate of programs.

However, this summer, most of our programs have waiting lists, and we are spending hours each week looking through our sign-ups to figure out how we can accommodate as many people as possible.  If we smash our $50,000 goal, our top priority will be to add days and timeslots to better accommodate the demand for our program.  Your support will be deeply meaningful to our programs and our participants.  Thank you!
